Dr. Eric C. Palmquist will open Momentum Foot and Ankle Wellness Center, providing medical and surgical treatment and aesthetic care service in a safe, medical spa setting, in northwest Omaha on February 23.
Momentum is unique in the Omaha area because it combines the skill of a highly experienced podiatrist with state-of-the-art technology for more accurate diagnosis and treatment, and offers a wide range of medical, cosmetic and spa-type services. Momentum will serve patients with active lifestyles, sports related injuries, diabetes, and people interested in cosmetic procedures.
“At Momentum, we treat our patients like family members,“ Palmquist said. “Our goal is to help our patients get back to the activities they love quickly and safely by providing a personalized treatment plan. We do this while offering the safety of a medical practice combined with tranquil ambiance of a spa. It is truly the best of both worlds”
Dr. Palmquist is certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and is highly trained in diagnosing and treating diseases and disorders of the foot and ankle, with a specialty in heel pain, sports injury and reconstructive surgery. After obtaining his doctorate degree in podiatry, he completed a three-year residency with training in a wide range of settings including Stanford University, the V.A. Medical Center, Kaiser Permanente, private practices and small community hospitals and had practiced for several years in Illinois and Iowa.
Momentum provides comprehensive care of foot and ankle disorders, including medical and surgical treatment of ankle sprains and instability, athletic injuries, bunions, fungal toenails, fractures, heal spurs, ingrown toenails, work injuries, and Plantar Fasciitis (the painful cause of heal pain for which more than two million patients are treated each year.)
Aesthetic (cosmetic) services include vein and scar reduction, laser hair removal and tattoo removal, and FDA-cleared laser treatment for toenail fungus which is 95% effective and has no harsh side effects. The office will also offer a range of “medical pedicures” for diabetics, cancer patients, runners and seniors.
Utilizing the newest technology available, Momentum will provide patients with more accurate and safer diagnoses. Examples include 20/20 imaging which decreases radiation exposure while enhancing image quality; 3D scanning technology for faster turnaround on custom orthotics; ultrasound evaluation; and access to an online patient health portal for scheduling appointments, making payments, and reviewing health records.
Momentum Foot and Ankle Wellness Center is located at the Shoppes at Elk Creek on the northeast corner of 168th and Maple Streets. More information is available at momentumfootandankle.com.
Podiatrists are physicians, surgeons and specialists. In addition to treating disease, injuries and deformities of the foot and ankle, they can also catch signs of diabetes, arthritis and nerve and circulatory disorders, all of which can be detected in the feet. According to the American Podiatric Medical Association, most Americans log an amazing 75,000 miles on their feet by the time they reach age 50.
