Thousands Affected by Catastrophic Flooding
The Fremont Area Community Foundation announced today that it is granting $50,000 from its Fremont Forever Fund to aid flood relief and recovery efforts in the Fremont area.
It has also established the Fremont Area Flood Relief & Recovery Fund to accept donations. The fund will serve both short- and long-term flood recovery efforts and donations can be ear-marked for relief activity benefitting specific communities affected by the 2019 flood within the foundation’s grant area. This grant area includes all of Dodge, Washington, Burt, Cuming and Colfax counties, as well as parts of Douglas and Saunders counties. (A map of the area can be found at www.facfoundation.org/grants.)
“The Fremont area has been blessed by an outpouring of support—both volunteer and monetary—during the past week,” said Melissa Diers, Executive Director of the foundation. “But there is much work ahead. We hope this grant and this fund will enhance efforts currently underway and aid the recovery and rebuilding process throughout the greater Fremont area in the coming months.”
